He finished his senior season by leading Clintondale to a Division 3 state district title. That year he averaged 22 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 5.1 steals per game. For his senior-season efforts, Washington was named third team of the Detroit Free Press All-East Team.

Washington also entered the MHSAA record book by recording 111 steals in 21 games during the 2017-18 season. It's the most steals in a single season in Macomb County basketball history. On January 27, 2019, Washington became the first boys' basketball player in school history to reach the 1,000-points plateau.

“What truly makes (Washington) special is he is a complete player," Clintondale coach Rob Townsend said. "He regularly guards our opponent’s top player in the second half, and he has taken 13 charges this season.”
